Calling all wood ducks: Two homes available in Warner Park. Free. Waterfront view. Ladder for kiddies.

Jack Hurst of Wild Warner, left, and Paul Noeldner of Audubon installed two wood duck houses in Warner Park’s lagoon last week. The houses were mounted (through the ice) over water, and near trees, but away from human and dog activity.

The houses come furnished with anti-predator PVS pipe, wood chips, and a little wire ladder to help the babies climb up to the entrance.

Wood ducks, a beautiful specie, have been spotted passing through Warner. But we hope to attract nesting pairs.
