On Saturday, April 30, 2011, twelve bluebird enthusiasts joined Audubon bluebird expert, Paul Noeldner, at the Warner Park Shelter.
Paul helped them to build four bluebird houses. He kept one and erected one along a Warner Park path.
Another has been put up outside the windows of the NESCO senior meal site and one is outside the windows of the Warner Park Center exercise room. It may be too late this year for nesting bluebirds to find these houses, but some kind of bird is likely to call these houses home this summer.
The group learned a great deal about the bluebirds who nest in the houses of Warner Park. All visited the houses that have been up and occupied for several years.
Noeldner will return again this summer as a NESCO senior program.
Of the group, 10 were seniors, plus a father and his 12 year old son. All were fully mobile and most brought their own binoculars.
This bluebird event was a joint project of NESCO and Wild Warner.
