Test Event: Burr Hunting

Hello, I’m creating a test event.

In this imaginary event, we’ll be discussing common burr producing plants, how to identify them and how to get 100% covered in them. We’ll be trouncing through the woods, forging our own paths with incredibly wooly clothing so as to attract all of the burrs possible. This is for my thesis that if we take all the burrs out of the forest, then obviously none of them will grow back the following year.

You do not need to be experienced in plant ID or have any prior knowledge of burrs – Children are welcome to attend if accompanied by a chaperone- they’re the best at getting burrs. Bring drinking water, sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, work gloves, and a snack, if desired. Wear closed toed shoes and clothes you don’t mind working in – long sleeves and long pants are recommended.

In this event, we’ll be testing the “make people use signup.com” type of event, wherein we don’t allow registrations, but funnel them to another event site. Not my preferred, but I’m also biased- could be good for partner events.
